Congratulations to Rebecca on Winning the Student Sustainability Leadership Award
We are excited to announce that Rebecca Grekin has won the prestigious Student Sustainability Leadership Award from AASHE for her innovative project, TASTE Food: The Automated Scope 3 Tool for Tracking Emissions from Food. This award recognizes Rebecca’s outstanding contribution to sustainability through her development of TASTE Food, a free tool that streamlines the categorization of food purchases for emissions tracking. By addressing inefficiencies in manual classification, the tool simplifies the process of measuring and analyzing food-related emissions. TASTE Food standardizes food emissions data across institutions, making it easier to compare and track emissions accurately. Its features, such as plant-based food tagging for AASHE STARS assessments, help universities meet sustainability goals by enabling more effective emissions tracking. This project, supported by AASHE, has the potential to create significant impact by providing a scalable and reliable approach for universities to track and reduce their carbon footprints.
A huge congratulations to Rebecca for this well-deserved recognition! We are proud to share her achievements and look forward to the continued success and impact of her work.
